Rochana meaning
Rochana (रोचना) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रो, it is a Tula rashi name (Swati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The bright sky; a handsome woman; a red lotus; a yellow pigment
Also used to mean: beautiful
Rochana (रोचना) is the Sanskrit feminine rocanā, from the root ruc, "to shine", which also gives ruci and rucira. Monier-Williams lists the bright sky or luminous sphere, from the Atharvaveda, then the yellow pigment go-rocanā, a handsome woman, a red lotus flower, and the name of a wife of Vasudeva in the Bhagavata Purana. Name lists give Rochana as "bright", "beautiful" or "red lotus", all of which have support in the dictionary. Rochna is a shorter spelling.
