Arunima meaning
Arunima (अरुणिमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Redness, ruddiness; the red glow of dawn
Also used to mean: reddish glow
Arunima (अरुणिमा) comes from Sanskrit aruṇiman, which Monier-Williams defines as redness or ruddiness. It is formed from aruṇa, "red", which also means the dawn, so the word describes the red glow of the sky at sunrise. In Hindi poetry aruṇimā is used for exactly that early-morning blush. Name lists give "glow of dawn", in line with the dictionary. A well-known bearer is the mountaineer Arunima Sinha, who in 2013 became the first woman amputee to climb Mount Everest.
