Divya meaning
Divya (दिव्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Divine, heavenly, celestial; wonderful; charming, beautiful
Divya (दिव्या) takes its meaning from the Sanskrit adjective divya. Monier-Williams gives it as "divine, heavenly, celestial", in contrast to what is earthly or human, and adds "supernatural, wonderful" and "charming, beautiful, agreeable". As a neuter noun divya can mean the divine world or the sky, and also a solemn oath or an ordeal used to test the truth. The dictionary's feminine divyā is mainly a set of plant names and the name of an Apsaras, so the given name really follows the adjective. Baby-name lists agree on "divine" or "heavenly", sometimes adding "radiant". The name is used in both north and south India, including in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
