Uditi meaning
Uditi (उदिति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, उ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Rising (of the sun); also setting, conclusion
Also used to mean: dawn
Uditi (उदिति) is a Vedic word from ud-i, "to go up", the verb used for the rising sun. Monier-Williams gives uditi first as "ascending, rising (of the sun)", as in the Rigveda and Atharvaveda; in a few Rigvedic verses it is used for the sun going down, and it can also mean the conclusion of a sacrifice. Name lists give Uditi as "rising" or "dawn", which follows the main sense. It belongs with Udita and the boys' names Udit and Uday, all built on the same image of the rising sun.
