Mahima meaning
Mahima (महिमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Greatness, might, majesty, glory
Mahima (महिमा) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit mahiman, a noun built on mah, "great", in the same way that garima is built on guru. Monier-Williams gives greatness, might, power, majesty and glory, with uses going back to the Vedas. It is also one of the eight siddhis, the yogic power of making oneself as large as one wishes, the partner of gariman, the power of becoming heavy. The dictionary notes that the word is used especially of the greatness of Shiva, and compounds with it name hymns of praise. Name lists give "greatness" or "glory", matching the dictionary, and in Hindi mahima is the usual word for the glory of a god or saint.
