Rupali meaning
Rupali (रूपाली) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (modern). By its first sound, रू, it is a Tula rashi name (Swati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Beautiful (from rūpa, "form, beauty, loveliness")
Rupali (रूपाली) is a modern name built on Sanskrit rūpa. Monier-Williams gives rūpa the senses outward appearance, form and colour, and also beauty, loveliness, grace and splendour. Name lists give Rupali as "beautiful", which follows from that second group of senses. The word rūpālī itself is not in the Sanskrit dictionaries, so the name is a later formation, much like Rupal and Rupa, which share the root. It is used in Maharashtra, Bengal and North India. The television actor Rupali Ganguly is a well-known bearer.
