Grishma meaning
Grishma (ग्रीष्मा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Summer, the hot season; summer heat
Also used to mean: warmth
Grishma (ग्रीष्मा), often spelt Greeshma, comes from Sanskrit grīṣma, "summer, the hot season", one of the six seasons of the Indian year. Monier-Williams places it in the months Jyeshtha and Ashadha, roughly mid-May to mid-July, and also gives it as summer heat; the word already appears in the Purusha hymn of the Rigveda. Grīṣma itself is masculine, and the girls' name adds the feminine -ā. Name lists give "summer" or "warmth", matching the dictionary. The name is used in Gujarat and, as Greeshma, in Kerala and Karnataka.
