Amna meaning
Amna (آمنہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Secure, safe, free from fear
Also used to mean: peace, security
Amna (آمنہ) is the South Asian spelling of Arabic Āmina, the feminine of āmin, from the root ʾ-m-n, which carries ideas of safety, security and trust. Lane's Lexicon defines āmin as secure, safe, or free from fear. The Quran uses the feminine āmina in 16:112 for a town that lived secure. Name lists today give "safe", "peace" or "security", all close to the dictionary sense. In Urdu the same spelling is read Aamna or Amna. The name is honoured above all as that of Āmina bint Wahb, mother of the Prophet Muhammad, who lost her when he was six years old. Amina, Aamina and Amna are all forms of the same name.
