Taskeen meaning
Taskeen (تسکین) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Calming, stilling, soothing; (in Urdu) comfort, consolation, contentment
Also used to mean: peace, serenity
Taskeen (تسکین) is the Arabic taskīn, from sakkana, "to make still", the same root that gives sakīna, "tranquillity", and the name Sakina. Lane's lexicon gives sakkana as to cause something to become still or calm, and to allay or soothe wind, heat, pain or anger. In Urdu, taskīn is the everyday word for comfort, consolation and contentment, as in dil ki taskīn, the heart's comfort. Name lists give Taskeen as "peace", "serenity" or "comfort", all close to the dictionary sense.
