Aparna meaning
Aparna (अपर्णा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
'not having even leaves' (as food); a name of Durgā or Pārvatī
Aparna (अपर्णा) is a name of the goddess Parvati. It is formed from Sanskrit a-, "without", and parṇa, "leaf", so the plain adjective aparṇa means "leafless". Monier-Williams explains the feminine Aparṇā as "not having even leaves" for food, a reference to the austerities Parvati undertook to win Shiva as her husband, and cites Kalidasa's poem Kumarasambhava for it. In that verse she gives up even the leaves that fall from trees of their own accord, and so those who know the old stories call her Aparṇā. The dictionary gives it as a name of Durga as well. Indian name lists give Aparna as "Goddess Parvati", which matches the dictionary.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Parvati.
