Shweta meaning
Shweta (श्वेता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
White, bright; (śvetā) one of the seven tongues of the sacred fire
Shweta (श्वेता) is the feminine of Sanskrit śveta, "white". Monier-Williams also gives "bright" and "dressed in white", and lists many white things the word can name: a white horse, a white cloud, silver, the planet Venus and the white of the eye. The feminine śvetā has entries of its own, among them one of the seven tongues of the sacrificial fire, a small white cowry shell, crystal and several white-flowered plants. White is the colour associated with the goddess Saraswati, one of whose epithets is Shvetambara, "clad in white". Indian name lists give Shweta as "white" or "fair", in line with the dictionary.
