Deepali meaning
Deepali (दीपाली) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दी, it is a Meen rashi name (Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A row of lamps; the festival of lights, Diwali
Deepali (दीपाली) is the Sanskrit dīpālī, "a row of lamps", from dīpa, "lamp". Monier-Williams also records dīpālī as the festival of illuminations held on the new-moon night of Āśvina or Kārttika, which is Diwali; the festival's name comes from dīpāvalī, a closely related word with the same meaning. A girl named Deepali is therefore named after the lines of small clay lamps that families light at Diwali. Name lists give "row of lamps", and some add "joy", a modern sense that is not in the dictionary. The name is used across Maharashtra and North India, often spelled Dipali.
