Chandrika meaning
Chandrika (चंद्रिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Moonlight; splendour, illumination
Chandrika (चंद्रिका) is the Sanskrit word for moonlight, from candra, "the moon". Monier-Williams records candrikā as moonlight in Kalidasa and later poets, and, at the end of a compound, as "splendour" or "illumination": many Sanskrit commentaries are titled -candrikā, as if casting moonlight on a text. It is also a name of the fragrant jasmine and of cardamom. Baby-name lists give the same meaning, moonlight. The name is used across India and in Sri Lanka, where Chandrika Kumaratunga served as President.
