Bakhshish (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼) is a Sikh unisex name of Persian origin (Punjabi usage), used for both girls and boys.
A gift, a present; grace, favour

Bakhshish (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼) is a Persian word: Steingass gives bakhshish as a gift or present. The Guru Granth Sahib uses the Punjabi form bakhsīs in the Japji on Ang 1, where gifts and grace come by God's command, and the srigranth dictionary glosses it as gift, favour and grace. Sikh name lists give "the blessed one". It is an older Sikh name, found with both Singh and Kaur. In everyday Hindi and Urdu the same word can also mean a tip.
