Harini meaning
Harini (हरिणी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A female deer, doe; also the name of an Apsaras
Harini (हरिणी) is the Sanskrit hariṇī, a female deer or doe, the feminine of hariṇa, "deer, antelope". As an adjective hariṇa also means tawny or yellowish, the colour of a deer's coat. Monier-Williams adds several other senses for hariṇī: yellow jasmine, a golden image, a poetic metre and the name of an Apsaras, a celestial dancer. The deer's large eyes are a favourite image of beauty in Sanskrit poetry, which is why names like Harini and Harinakshi are given to girls. Name lists give it as "deer", which matches the dictionary. It is used in South India.
