Prerna meaning
Prerna (प्रेरणा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Urging, inciting, setting in motion; direction
Also used to mean: inspiration, motivation
Prerna (प्रेरणा) is Sanskrit preraṇā, from pra-īr, "to set in motion, to drive forward". Monier-Williams records preraṇa, also feminine preraṇā, as setting in motion, urging or inciting, and as direction or command, with examples from the Kathāsaritsāgara and Hitopadeśa. In modern Hindi the word means the urge or stimulus that moves someone to act, and McGregor's dictionary gives urging, incitement, stimulus and encouragement. Name lists give "inspiration" or "motivation", a natural modern reading of those senses. The name is also spelled Prerana, which follows the Sanskrit more closely.
