Harsimran meaning
Harsimran (ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Remembrance (simran) of God (Hari)
Harsimran (ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ) joins har(i), God, and simran, remembrance. In Sikh practice simran is the remembering of God through meditation on the divine Name, and the Mahan Kosh traces the word to Sanskrit smaraṇa, recollection. The pairing comes straight from scripture: Guru Arjan's Sukhmani, often called the Psalm of Peace, repeats ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ again and again on Ang 263 of the Guru Granth Sahib, setting out what the remembrance of God brings to a devotee. As a name, Harsimran therefore means remembrance of God, or one who keeps God in mind. It is given to both boys and girls, and is often shortened to Simran.
