Harnoor meaning
Harnoor (ਹਰਨੂਰ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Light or radiance (nūr) of God (Hari)
Harnoor (ਹਰਨੂਰ) joins har(i), God, the Creator, with nūr, an Arabic word for light or radiance. The Mahan Kosh gives nūr as brightness and light, splendour, and also a name of the Creator as light embodied. Nūr occurs in the Guru Granth Sahib, in Kabir's verse at Ang 1349 on the one light from which all creation came, and in Guru Arjan's Mārū Solhā at Ang 1084. The full name is a modern compound meaning "God's light" or "divine radiance", and baby-name lists render it the same way. Like Gurnoor, it pairs an Indian word for God with an Arabic word for light, and it is used for both girls and boys.
