Sarika meaning
Sarika (सारिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, सा, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The myna bird; a confidante
Also used to mean: songbird, parrot
Sarika (सारिका) is the Sanskrit sārikā, a variant of śārikā, the bird Monier-Williams labels Turdus salica, a kind of myna, citing the law book of Manu and the Mahābhārata. MW also gives sārikā as a confidante, as the bridge of a stringed instrument and as a simple kind of vīṇā. Indian name lists usually render the name as "songbird" or "parrot". The myna is indeed a songbird that can learn to talk, but it is not a parrot, so "myna" is the more exact meaning. The name is used by Hindu families across India and is also spelled Sareeka. In Khmer the same-sounding word names the hill myna.
