Mousumi meaning
Mousumi (मौसमी) is a Hindu girl's name of Arabic via Persian origin (Bengali usage).
Seasonal; of the monsoon (from mausum, 'a season; the monsoon, the rains')
Mousumi (मौसमी) is a Bengali girls' name meaning "of the monsoon". The Samsad Bengali dictionary gives mausum as a season and especially the monsoon or rainy season, and mausumi as its adjective, "seasonal, monsoonal", as in the monsoon wind. The word reached Bengali from Arabic mawsim, "season", through Persian, which is also the source of the English word monsoon; some name sites call it Sanskrit, which it is not. In Bengal the rains are celebrated in song and poetry, which helps explain the name's appeal. The actress Moushumi Chatterjee is a well-known bearer.
