Sravanthi meaning
Sravanthi (स्रवंती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Flowing water, a river
Sravanthi (स्रवंती) is the Sanskrit sravantī, from the verb sru, "to flow, to stream". Monier-Williams gives it as "flowing water, a river", a sense found from the Rigveda onward, and the closely related sravat also means "a river". Name lists give "flowing stream" or "river", which matches. The name is used mainly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, written స్రవంతి. Some lists spell it Shravanthi and link it to hearing instead, but the river meaning belongs to the Sanskrit sravantī.
