Sreeja meaning
Sreeja (श्रीजा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Malayalam and Telugu usage).
Born from Śrī (the goddess of fortune)
Sreeja (श्रीजा) comes from Sanskrit śrīja, "born from Śrī". Śrī is the goddess Lakshmi and also the ordinary word for beauty, prosperity and good fortune, and -ja means "born of". Monier-Williams lists śrīja as a name of Kama, the god of love, said to be Lakshmi's son; Sreeja is the feminine form used as a girl's name. Name lists give "born of prosperity" or "born of Lakshmi", which matches. The name is used mainly in Kerala, where it is spelled Sreeja; Shreeja and Srija are other spellings.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
