Lahari meaning
Lahari (लहरी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A large wave, a billow
Also used to mean: ripple
Lahari (लहरी) is the Sanskrit word laharī, a large wave or billow. Monier-Williams records it from classical poetry and from the Kathāsaritsāgara, and the same word survives in Hindi lahar, "wave". Name lists today give it as wave or ripple, which matches the dictionary. The word is best known from the titles of Sanskrit hymns, such as the Saundarya Lahari, "waves of beauty", a hymn to the goddess traditionally attributed to Adi Shankara. Lahari is used in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, where it is written లహరి and ಲಹರಿ.
