Harnaaz meaning
Harnaaz (ਹਰਨਾਜ਼) is a Sikh girl's name of Punjabi origin.
Nāz, pride, glory and grace, with har, God, or 'every'
Also used to mean: everyone's pride, pride of God
Harnaaz (ਹਰਨਾਜ਼) pairs har with nāz, a Persian word that came into Punjabi. Steingass's Persian dictionary gives nāz as glory and pride, and also as elegance, grace and the fond endearments of lovers or parents; the Mahan Kosh records fondness, affection and charm. The first part can be read two ways: as hari, God, as in most Sikh names, or as Persian har, "every", which the Mahan Kosh also records. That gives the two meanings seen on name lists, "God's pride" and "everyone's pride". A well-known bearer is Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss Universe 2021.
