Veerpreet meaning
Veerpreet (ਵੀਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Vīr (brave; also brother) joined with prīti (love)
Veerpreet (ਵੀਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ) joins vīr and prīt. Vīr, from Sanskrit vīra, is a brave man or warrior, and the Mahan Kosh also gives the everyday Punjabi sense of brother, as well as friend; the Guru Granth Sahib uses the form bīr (Ang 203). Prīt, from Sanskrit prīti, is love or affection. Because vīr has two senses, the name can be read as love joined with courage, or as a brother's love, and we found no name list that settles which is meant. It is a modern compound, used in Sikh families for both boys and girls; related names include Gurveer, Karanveer and Rajveer.
