Shivangi meaning
Shivangi (शिवांगी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
From śiva, 'auspicious; the god Śiva', and aṅga, 'limb, body'
Also used to mean: part of shiva, beautiful
Shivangi (शिवांगी) joins Sanskrit śiva and aṅga. Monier-Williams gives śiva as auspicious, propitious, gracious and kind, and as the name of the god Śiva, "the Auspicious one"; aṅga is a limb of the body or the body itself. The compound śivāṅgī is not in the dictionaries, so it is best read as a later name built from these parts, either "part of Śiva", for Pārvatī as half of Śiva's body, or "one with an auspicious body", on the pattern of the attested śubhāṅgī, "a handsome woman". Name lists give "part of Shiva" or "beautiful". The name is used across North India.
