Shikha meaning
Shikha (शिखा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A crest, a tuft of hair on the crown; a flame; a peak, a point
Shikha (शिखा) is the Sanskrit śikhā, a word for anything that rises to a point. Monier-Williams lists it first as the tuft or lock of hair on the crown of the head, a crest, topknot or plume, and the crest of a peacock; then as "a pointed flame, any flame" and "a ray of light"; and also as "a sharp end, point, spike, peak, summit, pinnacle". The tuft of hair kept by traditional Hindu priests is still called a shikha. Indian name lists give Shikha as "flame", "crest" or "peak", in line with the dictionary, so the name gathers together the images of a bright flame and a high summit.
