Bhalchandra meaning
Bhalchandra (भालचंद्र) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, भा, it is a Dhanu rashi name (Mula nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Having the moon on his forehead; a name of Ganesha
Also used to mean: lord ganesha, one with the moon on his forehead
Bhalchandra (भालचंद्र) is Sanskrit bhāla-candra, from bhāla, "forehead", and candra, "moon". Monier-Williams gives it as "having the moon on his forehead", a name of Gaṇeśa found in the Purāṇas. Devotional stories tell how the moon mocked Ganesha and was cursed, and how Ganesha later placed the crescent on his brow; Bhalchandra Sankashti is a fast day for this form. Baby-name lists give the same meaning. It is a Marathi name, and it should not be confused with Balachandra, "young moon". Bhalchandra Nemade, the Marathi novelist and Jnanpith winner, carries it.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Ganesha.
