Pragyan meaning
Pragyan (प्रज्ञान) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Knowledge, wisdom, intelligence, discrimination; a distinctive mark
Pragyan (प्रज्ञान) is the Sanskrit prajñāna, written with the jñ sound that North Indians pronounce "gy". It comes from pra-jñā, "to know, to discern". Monier-Williams gives the noun as knowledge, wisdom, intelligence and discrimination, and also as a mark of recognition; as an adjective it means prudent and wise. The word is familiar from the Upanishadic saying prajñānam brahma, "consciousness is Brahman". India's Chandrayaan-3 lunar rover, which landed in 2023, was named Pragyan. Name lists give "wisdom" or "knowledge", the same as the dictionary.
