Gunjan meaning
Gunjan (गुंजन) is a Hindu unisex name of Sanskrit origin, used for both girls and boys.
Buzzing, humming
Gunjan (गुंजन) is Sanskrit guñjana, a noun meaning "buzzing", which Monier-Williams takes from Horace Hayman Wilson's earlier Sanskrit dictionary and links to the compound madhu-guñjana. The verb behind it, guñj, describes a soft humming or buzzing sound, and in Hindi and Urdu gunjan is still the ordinary word for a buzz or hum, the sound of bees above all. Baby-name lists give "humming of bees" or simply "humming", which matches the dictionary. The name is given to both girls and boys, and it is written with a short u in both Hindi and Sanskrit.
