Ishmeet meaning
Ishmeet (ਈਸ਼ਮੀਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Īś, the Lord, joined with mīt, a friend
Ishmeet (ਈਸ਼ਮੀਤ) is a modern name made from īś and mīt. The Mahan Kosh traces īs to Sanskrit īśa and defines it as lord and master, and as the Creator, the lord of the world; the Guru Granth Sahib uses the word, for example on Ang 925. Mīt is a friend, from Sanskrit mitra. Together they give "friend of God", which is how name lists explain it. It is given to boys and girls, and is remembered through the singer Ishmeet Singh, who won the television contest Voice of India in 2007.
