Usama meaning
Usama (اسامہ) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
The lion (a proper name for the lion)
Usama (اسامہ) is the Arabic usāma, which Lane's lexicon records as a proper name for the lion, used like a personal name without the article, much as old English stories called the fox Reynard. Name lists agree on "lion". The best-known early bearer is Usama ibn Zayd, son of the Prophet's adopted son Zayd ibn Haritha, whom the Prophet appointed while still a young man to lead an expedition to Syria. Osama is another spelling of the same name.
