Abrar meaning
Abrar (ابرار) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
The righteous, the pious (plural of barr)
Also used to mean: virtuous
Abrar (ابرار) is an Arabic plural, abrār, "the righteous", from barr. Lane's lexicon defines barr as pious and dutiful, above all towards one's parents and towards God, and also as good, just and truthful; he notes that abrār is often used of saints and devoted worshippers. The word appears several times in the Quran, as in the prayer "take us with the righteous" (3:193). Although plural in form, Abrar is used in India as a boy's given name, as by the screenwriter and director Abrar Alvi.
