Babar meaning
Babar (بابر) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin.
A tiger (Persian babr); also the name of the emperor Babur
Also used to mean: lion
Babar (بابر) is best known as the name of Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur (1483–1530), who founded the Mughal Empire after his victory at Panipat in 1526. The name is usually traced to Persian babr, which Steingass's Persian dictionary defines as a tiger; Steingass also lists bābar on its own as the emperor's name. Name lists give the meaning as "tiger" or "lion". Tiger is the sense the dictionary supports, while lion appears to be a looser modern gloss. A well-known bearer is the Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam.
