Ghalib meaning
Ghalib (غالب) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
One who overcomes, conquers or prevails
Also used to mean: victorious, winner
Ghalib (غالب) is Arabic ghālib, "one who overcomes", from the verb ghalaba. Lane's lexicon explains the verb as overcoming, conquering, mastering or surpassing someone, and ghālib as the person who does so. The same word also means what is most usual, so fī al-ghālib is the ordinary phrase for "mostly". The Quran says that God is ghālib over His affair (12:21), meaning nothing can stop His purpose. In India the name is closely tied to Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib, the great Urdu and Persian poet of 19th-century Delhi, who wrote under it as his pen name.
