Mikail meaning
Mikail (میکائیل) is a Muslim boy's name of Hebrew origin (via Arabic).
Name of an archangel; Hebrew Mîkāʾēl, "who is like God?"
Mikail (میکائیل) is the Islamic form of the name of the archangel Michael. The Quran names him once, as Mīkāl, beside Jibrīl (Gabriel) in 2:98, and Muslim tradition counts him among the archangels. The name goes back to Hebrew Mîkāʾēl, which Strong's concordance explains as a question built from "who", "like" and "God": "Who is like God?". Name lists give the same meaning. Indian families also write Mikaeel or Mekail; the English form Michael is a separate name on our site.
