Asadullah meaning
Asadullah (اسداللہ) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Lion of God
Asadullah (اسداللہ) joins the Arabic asad, which Lane's lexicon defines as the lion, with Allāh, God, to mean "Lion of God". It began as a title of honour: the Prophet's uncle Ḥamza and his cousin ʿAlī were both called Asad Allāh for their courage. It is used as a given name by Muslims in India and the Persian-speaking world. Its best-known bearer in India is Mirza Asadullah Beg Khan, the poet Ghalib (1797–1869), whose letters and ghazals are still read across South Asia.
