Mujahid meaning
Mujahid (مجاہد) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who strives, exerting utmost effort
Also used to mean: striver
Mujahid (مجاہد) is the Arabic mujāhid, the active participle of jāhada, "to strive". Lane's lexicon explains jahada as to strive, labour or exert oneself, and jihād as using one's utmost effort in contending with what is disapproved, which the scholar Er-Rāghib divides into three kinds: a visible enemy, the devil, and one's own self. Name lists give the meaning as "striver" or "one who strives". A well-known bearer is Mujahid ibn Jabr (c. 642–722), an early scholar of Quranic commentary in Mecca.
