Bahadur meaning
Bahadur (بہادر) is a Muslim, Sikh and Hindu boy's name of Persian origin.
Brave, bold, valiant; a champion or hero; a Mughal title of honour
Also used to mean: courageous
Bahadur (بہادر) is the Persian bahādur, which Steingass's dictionary defines as brave, bold, valiant and courageous, and also as a soldier, champion or hero. He adds that it was a title of honour granted by the Mughal emperors, rather like a knighthood. The word passed into Urdu and Hindi as the everyday word for "brave", and the name is shared across communities in north India. It formed part of the names of Bahadur Shah Zafar (1775–1862), the last Mughal emperor and an Urdu poet, and of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru.
