Keerthika meaning
Keerthika (कीर्तिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (South Indian usage). By its first sound, की, it is a Mithun rashi name (Mrigashira nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Fame, renown (from kīrti)
Keerthika (कीर्तिका) is built on Sanskrit kīrti, "fame, renown", with a feminine ending in -kā. Monier-Williams gives kīrti as good report, fame and glory, and notes that Fame was personified as a daughter of Dakṣa and wife of Dharma; the word can also mean lustre. Keerthika itself is a modern form rather than a dictionary word. It is used mainly in South India, where the th spelling follows local pronunciation, and it is a different name from Kritika, which comes from the Pleiades star cluster.
