Nishka meaning
Nishka (निष्का) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A gold neck ornament, later a gold coin; gold
Also used to mean: honest, pure
Nishka (निष्का) comes from Sanskrit niṣka, one of the oldest words for gold in the language. In the Rigveda a niṣka is a golden ornament worn on the neck or breast, and Monier-Williams notes that it was also used as money; later it became the name of a gold coin and a unit of weight, and the lexicographers give it simply as "gold". Name lists give Nishka as "gold coin", which matches, and also as "honest" or "pure", which we could not find in the dictionaries. It is a short modern name for girls.
