Nisha meaning
Nisha (निशा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Night; also a vision, a dream; turmeric
Nisha (निशा) is the Sanskrit niśā, "night", a word Monier-Williams cites from the ritual sutras, the law book of Manu and the Mahabharata. The dictionary also gives it the sense of "a vision" or "dream", from the Mahabharata, and, in the medical writer Sushruta, "turmeric". The word forms many compounds: the moon is niśākara, "the night-maker", and daybreak is niśānta, "the close of night", which is also the source of the boys' name Nishant. Indian name lists give Nisha simply as "night", exactly as the dictionary does.
