Rohan meaning
Rohan (रोहन) is a Hindu and international boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रो, it is a Tula rashi name (Swati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The act of ascending or mounting; also the healing of a wound
Rohan (रोहन) comes from Sanskrit rohaṇa, formed from the root ruh, "to rise, to climb, to grow". Monier-Williams gives the noun as a means of ascending in the Rig Veda and as the act of mounting, ascending or riding; the same word can also mean the healing over of a wound. As a masculine noun, Rohaṇa is the name of a mountain, identified as Adam's Peak in Sri Lanka, in the Rājataraṅgiṇī. Name lists give the same meaning, "ascending" or "rising". The modern spelling uses a plain n rather than the dictionary's retroflex ṇ. The name is used by Hindu families in India and abroad, and is easy to say in English.
