Abhilipsa meaning
Abhilipsa (अभिलिप्सा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Desire to obtain
Abhilipsa (अभिलिप्सा) is a Sanskrit noun built from abhi-, "towards", and lipsā, the wish to obtain, which comes from the verb labh, "to get, to gain". Monier-Williams defines abhilipsā simply as the desire to obtain something. It belongs to the same family of longing words as Abhilasha, but leans towards the wish to reach or achieve. The name is used mainly in Odisha, where the related Abhipsa is also a girls' name. The Odia singer Abhilipsa Panda became widely known through the devotional song "Har Har Shambhu".
