Agam meaning
Agam (ਅਗਮ) is a Sikh boy's name of Punjabi origin (Gurbani, from Sanskrit agamya), also used for girls.
Inaccessible, beyond reach; beyond the grasp of the mind
Agam (ਅਗਮ) is a word from the Guru Granth Sahib. The Mahan Kosh traces it to Sanskrit agamya and gives it as unreachable, a place no one can get to, and as beyond the grasp of the intellect; it also records the sense immovable. Gurbani uses it again and again of God and the Guru: on Ang 52 Guru Arjan calls the Guru lofty, inaccessible and infinite. As a name it is a modern choice in Sikh families, given mostly to boys and sometimes to girls, and it also begins compounds such as Agampreet and Agamjot. It is a different word from Aagam (Sanskrit āgama), which means arrival or a sacred teaching.
