Jashan meaning
Jashan (ਜਸ਼ਨ) is a Sikh boy's name of Persian origin (Punjabi usage).
A feast, celebration; a festive gathering
Jashan (ਜਸ਼ਨ) is the Punjabi word for a celebration, borrowed from Persian jashn and shared with Hindi and Urdu. Steingass's Persian dictionary gives jashn as a feast, a social entertainment or a convivial gathering, and also a solemn feast, and lists related words such as jashn-gāh, a banqueting hall. In Punjabi the word is used for any joyful occasion, from a wedding to a victory. It has become a boys' name in Sikh and Punjabi families, both on its own and in compounds such as Jashanpreet and Jashandeep, and is occasionally given to girls. Name lists give it simply as "celebration" or "festivity".
