Dilbagh meaning
Dilbagh (ਦਿਲਬਾਗ਼) is a Sikh boy's name of Punjabi origin.
Dil (heart) joined with bāgh (garden)
Also used to mean: garden of the heart, heart's happiness
Dilbagh (ਦਿਲਬਾਗ਼) joins dil, heart, with bāgh, a garden, a Persian word that the Mahan Kosh records among the senses of ਬਾਗ; Guru Arjan uses bāg for gardens on Ang 70 of the Guru Granth Sahib. Read together the parts give "garden of the heart", and some lists say "heart's happiness" or "one with a blossoming heart". In Sikh history Dilbagh was the name of one of two fine horses that Bhai Bidhi Chand recovered for Guru Hargobind. Dilbag is another spelling.
