Finn meaning
Finn is an international boy's name of Irish origin.
White, fair, bright; also blessed, just
Finn is the Irish name Fionn, from the Old Irish adjective find. The Electronic Dictionary of the Irish Language gives its basic sense as white, bright and lustrous; in religious poetry it means blessed, and in a moral sense fair, just and true. The name belongs above all to Finn MacCool, Fionn mac Cumhaill, the legendary hero who, Britannica explains, led the warrior band of the Fianna and whose deeds fill the Fenian cycle of Irish tales; his son Oisín was said to be its poet. Finn is one short syllable, simple to spell, and works well alongside a longer Indian middle name.
