Albert meaning
Albert is an international and Christian boy's name of Germanic origin (Old High German).
Noble and bright: adal "noble" + beraht "bright"
Albert comes from the Old High German name Adalbert, which the Online Etymology Dictionary explains as adal, "noble family", joined to beraht, "bright": in other words "nobly bright" or "bright through noble birth". The same two elements gave Old English Æthelbeorht. The name spread through German princely families and was made famous in Britain by Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria, and worldwide by the physicist Albert Einstein. In India it has long been used by Christian families, and Lance Naik Albert Ekka of the Brigade of the Guards was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his courage in the 1971 war.
