Jovan meaning
Jovan is a Christian boy's name of Hebrew origin (Serbian form of John).
Serbian form of John: Jehovah-favoured
Also used to mean: God is gracious
Jovan is the Serbian and Macedonian form of John, taken from the Greek Iōannēs of the Gospels. Like John it goes back to the Hebrew Yehochanan, which Strong's Concordance (H3076) explains as "Jehovah-favoured", from the divine name and chanan, "to show favour"; name lists give it as "God is gracious". It sits in the same family as Ivan, Johan, Juan and Giovanni. In India Jovan is used by Christian families, particularly in Kerala, as a form of the baptismal name John.
